Živi Atelje DK | Mingsheng Pi | Knjižne ilustracije — Book Illustrations | 23.04

On Monday, 23th of April Živi Atelje DK Gallery unveiled an exhibition of illustrations by painter MINGSHENG PI entitled Knjižne ilustracije — Book Illustrations.” The exhibition was part of the Noć knjige in collaboration with Mala Zvona publishing house. Click on the link to view the photos.

Mingsheng Pi is a Chinese painter who lives in Zagreb and is an illustrator for Mala Zvona publishing house. In this exhibition, three books of his illustrations will be presented: a children’s book “Winter Search” written by Miroslav Kirin, “How Wang-Fo saved himself” by Marguerite Yourcenar, and the third book is based on a story, also for children, written by German painter Kurt Shwitters, “The Story About a Rabbit.”

The salient charactistic of Mingsheng’s illustrations is a minimalistic but suggestive brushstroke and concise thought that interacts perfectly with the text. Mingsheng’s original illustrations will be on display at Živi Atelje DK Gallery, and publications of the book he illustrated will also be for sale.

This exhibition was organized as a collaboration between Mala Zvona publishing house and Živi Atelje DK.

U ponedjeljak, 23. travnja u 20 sati u galeriji Živi Atelje DK otvara se izložba knjižnih ilustracija slikara MINGSHENG PI.

Mingsheng Pi, kineski slikar sa zagrebačkom adresom, ilustrirao je za nakladu Mala zvona tri publikacije: slikovnicu „Zimska potraga” (tekst Miroslav Kirin), bajku Marguerite Yourcenar „Kako se spasio Wang-Fo” te slikovnicu koja se bazira na tekstu Kurta Schwittersa „Priča o zecu”.

Njegove ilustracije odlikuju se minimalističkim, sugestivnim potezom, promišljenom sažetošću koja ostvaruje sjajnu interakciju s tekstom. U prostoru Živog Ateljea bit će izloženi originali Mingshengovih ilustracija te organizirana prigodna akcijska prodaja knjiga koje je ilustrirao.

Izložbu organizira nakladništvo Mala Zvona u suradnji s galerijom Živi Atelje DK.
